Anissa Keyes Powell is the Founder and Visionary of Arubah Emotional Health Services, PA.  A Mental Health Clinic that has been in operation since 2012.  Anissa is  trained as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Yoga instructor.  She has successfully stewarded the ownership of her small business.  Anissa has used her skills as a therapist to build her business and has learned to leverage that asset to obtain additional assets.  She has recently decided to expand her business by Franchising Arubah, and creating opportunities for other prospective business owners to own an "Arubah."  The hope is to expand Arubah across the state Minnesota.  Creating greater access to emotional support for those that are unseen and ignored.

Additionally, Anissa has always had an affinity for real estate.  However, historically her experience was only in residential real estate.  In 2017, she began to purchase commercial real estate to scale her business.  Her first venture was The Healing Center.  A 5,000 square foot building on the corner of 52nd and Bryant in North Minneapolis.  She created a space where both traditional talk therapy and Bodywork providers are housed to provide holistic care.  The community space in the lower level commonly hosts workshops, small gatherings, yoga classes, trainings and healing classes.

Arubah continued to grow and scale, and Anissa began to envision Arubah having a headquarters in North Minneapolis where she was born and raised.  Anissa was well aware of the lack of ownership in the community and it's detrimental impact on the quality of life for African Americans in her community.   Anissa purchased the Old Camden Park State Bank in 2021.  It was a 20,000 square foot historic building.  The investment was overwhelming and it came with a tremendous loss, tenants left, the project timeline got drawn out and eventually Anissa shifted her vision to create an Ecosystem for small Black business owners.  The Northside Epicenter - A Black Business Ecosystem became Anissa's second intentional Place Making Project.

Anissa didn't just buy an old building, she was blessed with an adjacent lot.  With Anissa's new skills around commercial development, she decided to take the deep dive of Affordable Housing development.  Remnant would become an Affordable Housing Unit to support the same clients she has served for the 13 years.  In February of 2025 Anissa received predevelopment funds from the Met Council.  Since then, Anissa has been working with a team to develop three affordable housing options including a mixed used site with affordable housing and townhomes.

With all of the skills around Business development, Commercial development and providing Mental Health services, Anissa really loves Wealth Building, specifically for the Kingdom of God.  This lead Anissa to solidify and create infrastructure for Kingdom, Inc., a non-profit agency that partners with local churches to provide collective financial education to believers using Biblical Principals and practices to build financial stability and wealth building.  Kingdom was created in 2021 on a trial basis and will resume it's 4th year in 2025.  Anissa's model is innovative in driving real impact by actually giving the participants seed funding for their financial growth journey and individual mentorship.

Anissa's desire is to see people live financially thriving lives, with the ability to leave a legacy for their children's children.  Anissa feels called to this work and will dedicate all of her personal and financial resources to glorify God through all of her Market Place ministry efforts.
